So, what do you think? If a woman is feeling especially 'horny', do men in the room get a scent of that? Phermones (spelling) or whatever?
Or, would it just be the man she is attracted to that may be able to sense/smell the attraction?
What if the man wasn't actually there, but she was longing for him all day? Say - in an office environment? Would other men in the office be able to sense/smell the horniness do you think?
This may be a totally dumb question.

Well, pheromones are a physiologic, secondary sexual characteristic that act as chemical messengers, although they work more on an unconscious level, and aren't something we can "smell" per se ...but in the context you've framed the question, yes, I would suppose that some around a woman in that state would likely respond to her signals.

I don't necessarily mean respond, more like be aware?

Respond, meaning, nature takes its course and her signals would then generate a biological 'response' from the males, or females, within her sphere of influence.

...as to whether or not than those individuals would be cognizant of that, I dunno. Some, likely...but many are oblivious to so many things. Especially in a social environment that bombards and overwhelms the senses with so many cues, signals, directives, propaganda, marketing, etc

I'd like to think that being horny makes men notice women more.
But, I dont think it really works like that. I think it's more about the attitude you carry. Horny or not. It could also be that women who are horny notice men noticing them, more than they otherwise would. But in the end, the result is pretty much the same if you're the horny woman, so what does it really matter what the "real" explanation is?

This may be a totally dumb question. I don't think they have a clue. But that is just my opinion. I work in an "office type" environment.

I think it would be a little bit difficult to test that theory out anyway. What if some guy in the office came up to you, told you that being around you made him horny, and he wanted to know if it was because you were being horny first.
Yes, I can hear the slap already.

[quote=Jessucka]I'd like to think that being horny makes men notice women more. I think I agree with this wholeheartedly. I find if I'm in a certain mindset I notice the guys noticing me. But if I'm not, I'm not really looking for it.

I read that the more sex you have-- the more sex you could get. When a woman is having regular sex with a partner- she sends out these "sex" pheromones that can subconsciously alert men that shes a sexually active female. I can't remember where I read it- but I've seen it in more then one place.
Maybe it works that way when really horny too. It wouldn't surprise me. ah.. this explains my wild summer! Have a fling, other man notices, have fun with him, meet your true love. Now, if I could only bottle this....

I had a couple of lovers who knew the power of pheromes as a sexual attractant. They both used to get themselves aroused before a date, and touch a moist finger behind their ears and at the base of their necks, as if it were an exotic perfume (which, of course, it was).
As you might expect, neither divulged this to me at the first date. The fragrance was not noticable at a conscious level, only subliminally.
One was a nurse, an intelligent woman with a lot of sexual experience. In her judgement, it worked on some men and had no effect on others and she could pretty much tell right away by varying going "fragrant" and "sans-scent".
She had observed that it worked "very well" on me. We used to joke that if we could only find a way to bottle that stuff in volume we could both retire wealthy at a young age.

I have noticed that I can smell my wife's scent if she is horny. A few years ago, I could smell her when she was ovulating as well. It wasn't an overt scent but I noticed it. Not sure if other men did or not. Now that she's gone through menopause, I don't notice it much unless I am down there.
However, I will say that it's so wonderful that it's the last thing I want to be aware of when I die in her arms...

if i were a scientist i'd love to devise experiments to test this stuff (some are doing experiments right now). it's interesting to hear some male perspectives. i know men love the smell of pussy. can they become fixated on a PARTICULAR woman's scent, pheromones whatever you want to call it? I can rate certaing men by degrees of sexiness in scent pheromones etc...and some i can't seem to detect at all or can only smell anything sexy right around their penis. supposedly, women find men with an extremely different immune system from her own the sexiest smelling. of course, i can't judge whether that is true or not.
