It's also worth bearing in mind Why that it really depends on how your body reacts to the meds too. They issued my prescription after an antral follicle scan I had on CD 5 but it's just a rough estimate. They monitor you while you are on the meds and sometimes they will have to increase them if your not responding as they predicted you would, or keep you on them longer.

Everybody has been right why. It depends on your body and how much stimulation you will need. My fresh cycle cost like $2,000 in meds. My frozen cycle would have been way less because I didnt need stimulation meds but because of the chemical pregnancy they added a medicine called Lovenox which is a blood thinner to ensure that in case it was due to a blood clotting disorder that I would not lose the baby again. That medicine was so FREAKIN expensive. A 30 day supply was I believe almost $1,000.

Beth and Court, so sorry the damn witch found you both, although I know you didn't have high hopes for this cycle Bethy as timing was crummy.

Beth it looks like the progesterone cream really makes a difference to you? But looking at your chart at least it looks like you definately did O last month so thats got to be good news right?

Hey BethG,

Ya there was a pink ting.. so you hear that is a good thing? Anyways, I started my period on Nov 1, so I have to try all over again this month ha! I am sure you all know how that is. I go and see an OB/GYN on Thursday and I am really hoping she will be able to help. I am also going to go see the herbalist again this month. I didn't have sore boobs or cramping this month before my period since i started the herbs, so that is a good thing. I am also using a fertility monitor, and it says I ovulated 2 days this last month, so hopefully that means I am fertile. My herbalist put me on progesterone drops, some fertility herb and something that helps with Thyroid function, so I am hoping it will be the miracle i need. Do any of you have any adivce you can share with me.. my hubby and I have been trying for 7 months ...I know that doesn't sound like long, but when you want something so bad it feel likes forever!

Beeker did you mean to post this here? It seems like you maybe posted it in the wrong place? You may get more responses from ladies in a simular situation if you post over in the general TTC boards rather that here in overcoming infertility.

so went to doc this am.
starting whole process over.
starting on 75iu of Follistim thursday pm and back to doc on monday to check follies and estradial.
this is the end of my free meds after this cycle so this is it!!! please oh please give me a miracle.
I hope my books come to day. one of them talks about diet and vits. I think that will be my next step if this doesn't work. I think I may try fertility blend?? for her and him. diet and exercise. I am already pretty fit but not as fit as when I had my dd. then when we can afford IVF I will try that...if it doesn't happen natrually.
hope everyone is well.

court, no she hasn't but I'm seeing her tonight so I'll ask. I'm experiencing a heavier (for me) than usual period this time as well. TMI ALERT! But i soaked through a tampon today and that NEVER happens, particularly not on CD3.

Took me a couple of days to shake the blues (which never totally go away anymore, YWIM?) but I'm prepared for my new plan.
Femara 5mg CD3-7
Herbs for Her supplements
Acupuncture on CD3, CD5, and CD8
BDing! I told hubby he is not allowed to say no!
PreSeed as usual
Prayer

Court, I applaud you for trying to establish a better diet. A friend of mine really feels this is part of my issue, and it may be, although I feel age plays a big role too.

I'm liking the sound of your new plan Beth!! I'm cheering for you over here thats forsure!!

As for me I dont have much time to catch up just yet, gotta rush to work shortly. I plan on testing tomorrow with a digital to be sure i am not pregnant from my unmedicated cycle..and if it is bfn I shall be starting on my monitored cycle smile which really excites me. lol. Also I read about soemthing in my doctors office yesterday...instead of IVF, it is called IVM! I will definitely be looking into this down the road if need be, look it up ladies, its even cheaper than IVF itself!

Wow Michelle! I had never heard of IVM before and I just looked it up, it looks pretty interesting and a hell of alot cheaper than IVF. It's something I may look into in the future but I have no idea if they actually do it here in the UK.

Bethy I noticed you hadn't been around much and gathered you were finding it tough. Hunny believe me I do know how hard this is. I am coming up to 3 and a half years ttc now, it sure does not get any easier as time goes on. Just remember though that last month wasn't likely anyway as the BD'ing was not good. The fact remains that you did O again on just the soy, thats good!!!!! Sounds like you have a good plan for this month and I'm glad you are doing the accupuncture again, it really does seem to make such a difference for you! Didn't your NP want to look more into if that tube is blocked or not?

Pretty quiet around here again today.....

I have been looking more into this IVM and it seems that it wont be an option for me as there isn't a clinic near me that does it. However I have found some other forms of IVF that may be worth looking into. Did you know that you can actually do a thing called natural IVF? You don't need the drugs (hence the name "Natural" IVF) but what they do is monitor your cycle, remove the single egg when it is mature, fertilise it and then put it back. Success rates are no-where near as high as IVF but still it's worth a try if it's alot cheaper. Also found another thing called Mild IVF where they don't give you as many drugs. I had no idea there were these other forms of fertility treatment available! lol! If my treatment fails I will definately be looking into these in more detail next year!

Michelle it seems that IVM would be perfect for you as it seems to be aimed more towards women with PCOS as there is a much lower risk of over stimulating the ovaries which women with PCOS are more at risk with in IVF! It's definately worth finding more out about it.

And for those of you that can't afford IVF, why not look into those other options, you never know!!!!

Michelle, so what's the news?

Joanie, thank you for your comments and prayers! Doesn't seem that long ago that you were TTC lil' Squeaker with me and mel.

Mel, I know you more than anyone knows how tough it is somedays. I never forget you've been at this for even longer than me. I function just fine but really don't want much social interaction in real life -- just too much of an effort, it seems. I remember saying we were going to have babies or at least BFPs in 2009 -- sure hope we make good on that proclaimation.

Acu dr. wasn't happy to see me last night, so to speak. She thought I was absent for a much better reason. Didn't have my usual responses to the treatment last night but maybe it's because the supplements are working too and there's least "balancing" to be done. Hope it's all good, anyway. AF is still kinda hanging around, which is very unusual. Not reaching the panty liner but I'm still seeing bright red on the TP every time.

Maybe your uterine lining was thicker and because of the supplements are starting with a proper clean up?

Just a thought....

Not much is up with my Beth..just took my dollarama preggo test and so far so BFN...sigh. I will take another first thing in the morning, although It does really feel like AF is about to come knockin' all on her own...which is WEIRD. lol..unless I so happen to have a BFP..which could explain my shift in hormones lately..but until than i assume AF. I've had a mad craving and want for milk the past week...which is odd..i love milk but not this much lol. My mom said it must be hormone related. But i will test with a digital on saturday (couldnt get to walmart today!) and if still BFN onward I go with my medicated cycle laugh. Beth, in a way its good acu didnt have to do muhc today..and maybe those pills are actually helping you! So when do you start the Femera?

Michelle, if AF shows up on her own, this IS an improvement for you so try to see the bright side. I'm looking forward to your monitored cycle.

Court, I forgot to ask my acu dr. about the "clotty" problem. Sorry!

Jen, maybe you're right about the uterine lining. Whatever the reason, I'm taking it as a good sign that my uterus is clearing itself out and will make a better home for the baby now.

I have to agree Beth that this heavier AF sounds like it's a good thing, a good clean out before the baby makes it his / her home for 9 months!

Michelle I am also excited about the monitored cycle for you, unless of course you get a last minute BFP smile

This cycle is so boring for me! lol! Just stuck in limbo and waiting for day 21 to start my meds. It's not untill I go on a forced ttc break that I realise that ttc has become a way of life for so long! I feel my life will be like this forever!!!!
