I have a little funny story to share.

Rowan is now very fond of telling me when she's done a number 2. She will come up and say "pooed", and then, "change". However, she also seems to think she's pooed whenever she farts. The other day she kept saying "pooed" over and over, and everytime I checked her and told her there was nothing there she got really upset as she couldn't quite understand the difference. It was hilarious. She has since learned the word "farted". Not sure this was a good move on my part wink but it seems to be one of her current favorites!

So Audrey is 2 years old tomorrow, it went by soooo fast!!! We aren't planning anything huge. I have a friend baking her a number 2 cake and she'll be coming over with her 3 kids whom Audrey adores and we'll have pizza and cake smile I'll post pictures after it's over.

Bryony,
That's sooo cute, I ask Audrey if she's gone poo poo and she'll touch her diaper, but she won't tell me if she's pooed, lol!

Hi Ladies,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUDREY (I can officially say that - it's Friday here already hehehehehe!!!). Make sure you eat lots of cake!

Bry - gotta love the word "fart"...it really is bad when they say it at the most inappropriate times though hehehehhe! I will never forget Grant learning a naughty word - we were standing in the line up at the supermarket and he looked at me and goes "Oh, this is taking forever, I wish they would all just "P--- off"...OMG I was mortified - it was the first time he came out with a naughty word...I don't know where he picked it up from and I went every shade of pink, purple, blue and white! The worst one was when he told his grandmother to "F--- off"...he learnt that one at kinder and I told him in no uncertain terms that it was wrong and he shouldn't say it - then he says "xxx says it all the time at Kinder" and I said "Well, next time, you tell him it's not nice and not to use that word in front of you"...I have spoken to kinder about it and they were actually surprised that it has only happened now and not earlier in the year, as this kid says it all the time...I can only imagine what his home life is like if he has to say it all the time! I mean, once every now and then you can understand as it's really kids just testing the water, but if he repeats it time and time again, obviously his parents don't care if he turns out feral! I must say, Grant is pretty good - when I tell him a word is naughty and not to use it, he will pretty much stay clear of it (for now!).

On the word of "Fart"...Grant used to get it mixed up and would call it a "Part"..sooooo funny! It's funny how words get confused with littlies...my all time fave with my kids was the word strawberry...Grant called them dubbadubs and Rhys called them bupaties! Poor Rhysie gets everything mixed up and calls any piece of fruit that is round a "bapple"...and potatoes are "taties". Last night I got him a big bowl of "taties" and pumpkin and he asked for "e-orse" and I had no idea so he toddled on over to the fridge and pulled out the sauce...too cute! I can only figure that he is getting confused with "sauce" and "dead horse" (dead horse is aussie slang for sauce - sorry if that sounds gross...I have never really thought of the mental imagine til I wrote it down!).

Anyway, gotta run.

Lotsa love
Tan
xx

Happy Birthday Audrey - hope you all had a good nights sleep and have a great party.

Laurana seems to have got sick from being at the nursery on Wednesday. Last night I was with her from 23:00 til 02:00 when my husband took over til about 03:00 (she was awake pretty much the whole time) and then she was up at 04:45 so we are all exhausted.

Gutter - I hope Audrey is enjoying her special day.

Rowan is off to spend the weekend with Dick at his parents today. I really hate it when she goes now. It just feels so wrong to be separated from her. I also find it weird not picking her up from nursery when I dropped her off that morning. I always feel like I've forgotten something.

I know it's good for me to have a break, and good for her to spend time with Dick and be away from me for a while, but it doesn't get easier. There's so much more of her to miss these days.

One of the things I love the most is when I pick her up from nursery. As soon as she lays eyes on me, she shouts "mummy..mummy" and comes running with her arms in the air to be picked up. It melts my heart - and entertains whoever else in there at the same time picking up their kids.

She will be back on Monday. I'm planning a weekend of relaxation.

Awww Bryony I'm so sorry you are having a rough time letting Rowan go these days, I soooo know what you mean too!!! I think it's just the feeling you get is that she knows you so well now and you just love the way she warms you up by her recognizing you and she becoming such a big girl. You are so lucky to have your time and be greatful you have that time. Even though I have DF here with Audrey and Jasper, I still think that Rowan probably benefits from seeing her dad during the time he's got her whereas DF only plays with Audrey maybe an hour a day 'sometimes'. Some days he hasn't even seen her at all and most days he comes home late in the morning, goes straight to bed and wakes up after she's gone to bed. I never have time to myself. The first time I had away from Audrey was when she and DF went up north to visit family, but I felt pressured to join them, but JAsper was only 2 weeks old at the time, so I was happy to see them go so I could stay home and rest with Jasper for the week.

Well we've got Audrey's grandma, auntie and 2 cousins also coming over, along with my friend and her 3 kids whom Audrey just adores.

gotta run, she's up from her nap (gave her a nap today because of all the excitement that will happen later on today)
