My grandmother makes this every year when we visit and I love it so much! Warm with butter or cold on it's own, it's not too sweet and very savoury!

2 cups flour
1 cup applesauce
1 1/2 cups milk
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon salt

Mix ingredients together and pour into a loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.

For variety, add 1 cup of diced apples, raisins, nuts, or anything else you can think of!

But we spell it "Ouma's " which translate into grandmother in our language.
