teething gel didnt do squat for my kids either.

Both my kids went to toddler beds by 15 months. I put pillows on the floor on the off chance they fell out..not that its far to fall anyways. Its worked great for us. Since we are currently in a 2 bedroom house Im thinking I might get a bunk bed for Brendyn and Evan and use the crib(that converts to toddler bed) for the new baby..but Im not confortable putting Brendyn on a top bunk yet. He doesnt fall out of bed but Im afraid hell try to get up while half asleep and fall off. Im thinking if its a full size bottom bunk I could put both boys in there together...and use the top bunk later...but IDK if theyd keep each other up.

Oh, that would be so cute if they could actually sleep together. I love seeing pictures of newborn twins sleeping head to toe in the same crib or bassinet--they would just be a big version of that!

On my beach trip last weekend (I went w/my best friend and her 14 month son), we contemplated keeping the kids in the same pack n play to sleep. Well, seeing as how p thinks pack n plays are playhouses, that didn't work out too well. But it would have been adorable to have the two babes sleeping together.

desert--LOL...and they would totally look like twins cuz Brendyns a lil small and Evan is huge, so they are almost the same size!!

Ashley, I couldn't even think of potty training before Jasper was born. I hear about regression, wasn't worth my time, lol! We started at 2.5yrs old and she comprehends it and it's been going well aside from a bit of regression.

So..I havent tried putting Brendyn in his big boy undies yet--because I wanted to wait til wed be home for a few days straight. But weve been putting him on the potty at regular times throughout the day and he pretty much always pees(even tho his pullup was still wet in between). Ive also made a big point to make him sit on the potty after lunch because EVERY single day he poops right after I get Evan to fall asleep(on my lap--so he ends up waking up so I can change brendyn). It hasnt done any good though--he would pee, then wait til he was off the potty to poop. Well today he pooped in the potty!!!!!!!!! I am sooo happy! LOL Hopefully this means the big boy undies are all he needs to finish potty training. Maybe I wont have to go broke and lose my mind changing diapers ALL day after the babys born! lol

Also...Evan has been playing with himself ALLLLL the time. Its driving me nuts. Its just gross to see his hands down his diaper...then in his mouth(or hell try to stick them in MY mouth). Any ideas how to deal with this issue?? Hes defidently way too young to understand when and where its OK to play with himself. I dont want him to think its a terrible thing to be doing--I just dont want his hands down his pants ALL freakin day! lol

ugh, I wish I knew TDG - Wes does it too. I just know one of these days Wes is going to stick his hand down his diaper and come up with a handful of poop or something. So far the only deterrent I know of is putting him in a onesie. He still puts his hand down his pants (usually the back) but at least I know he won't get his fingers in his poo.

Usually when he does it it means he needs a diaper change.

Yay, congrats on the poop in the potty, TDG, haha! And maybe, once Brendyn in potty-trained, Evan will pick it up pretty quickly? Hmm, no idea on the playing with himself thing. Piper doesn't care about herself when the diaper is on, but when the diaper is off, I find myself saying things like, "Piper, raisins don't go there. No, Piper, don't mark on your privates (with crayola markers). Umm, Piper, I don't really want to know what you're doing now, so let's go get that diaper on."

Onesies would be great--if I could find ones that fit Evan! LOL. Hes huge and its hard to find 24 month/2 T onesies. Last night he decided his diaper was in the way of playing with himself so he took it off--then peed all over my treadmill. lol. lil stinker. I kind of doubt hell be quick to pick up potty training any time soon..he doesnt seem to have any control or notice when hes wet/dirty.

wow, Evan is HUGE! Wes is only a couple months younger and still fits 12m stuff, though he's on the small side. I saw some Gerber plain onesies on Amazon up to 3t size.

I remember somewhere reading someone who got so annoyed with their kids taking off their diaper that they duct taped around the diaper top so it wouldn't come off! Luckily we don't have that problem so long as I keep pants on Wes.

Wes is driving me nuts, he's refusing to take his morning nap, and he's going to miss his afternoon one because I have my ultrasound. I really don't want to have to deal with a cranky kid all day.

Myste hope Wes behaves himeslf and doesn't give you too hard a time. Hope you get a good ultrasound!

TDG yay for the potty training! I am sure two in nappies is better than three!

Laurana has had her cousin visiting again and they have had a lot of fun - its easier with two of them around, although there are quite a few fights.

We have taken off her night nappies now a few times and she has never wet the bed so I think from now on no more night nappies - but if I have to wash bedding a few times I may change my mind. Last night was our first proper run and it went fine.

Laurana is also starting to draw better suddenly - people sort of look like people now, but very often we still get elaborate scribbles that she tells us are dinosaurs or houses for the dogs or goodness knows what.

lol! I have to giggle a bit at this topic! We don't have any problems with N playing with his "parts" but when his diaper is off and he runs he has to take a second to bend all the way over and look between his legs like " What the hell is that thing " It always makes me laugh!!

I have heard about the clear packing tape over the front diaper flaps to keep from pulling the tabs up and getting the diaper off, I thought it was a smart idea! I don't know about duct tape all the way around , might make me a bit nervous!

We went bowling the other night and N had some pizza, I can't believe I didn't think for a second about the cheese! It was just awful... He threw up in his crib in the middle of the night, screamed from 5ish AM threw up all over our room, he wouldn't even take his cup of rice milk which for him to refuse is a big deal!... I gave him some benadryl and it knocked him out until about 10 he seemed to feel better but soon after waking up filled a diaper with diarrhea ( out of the sides out of the back ) so into the tub, and he did this about 4 more times in the day! Fun!

We are having issues with finding clothes that fit N right and I am worried when the winter rolls around! He fits 12mos around the waste and tops but not in length! Pants are going to be so fun! We may just have to get a few good pairs of overalls/coveralls!

Sorry I also wanted to add, I have made another apt with Pediatric surgery to get N's penis looked at as the adhesion's are still present and even though the skin is starting to come back ( only a small amount ) it is still just too chopped and rough looking. It might seem like I am jumping the gun on this but I said I would give it to 18mos and I don't want him to go through surgery any older if it is not going to change... They will be able to tell me all of this at his apt on Sept 14th

Ash, doesn't seem too early at all to have N's penis looked at, and seriously, how much is going to change between now and a month from now?

Wow, he really does have a reaction to dairy. Sorry you had to deal with all that, hope he's feeling better. Oh, and boys in overalls are so cute!

P is between clothing sizes. 18 month dresses are ridiculously short, but 24 month/2T (what is the difference?) are a little baggy at the neckline. 2T pants fit fine with a cloth diaper but are too big in a disposable so I roll them up at the waist. Some of her 2T pants are starting to come with the adjustable elastic, so hopefully she can get alot of use out of them, unless she keeps getting TALLER. I'm sure her 2T pants will last until spring. Shoes are another issue...

Myste, good luck on the ultrasound, and I hope Wes isn't a total bear.

Bron sounds like Laurana has got potty training down. Congrats!

Ash--whats goin on with his penis? Why does he have adhesions? That is a severe reaction to dairy, wow! Brendyns had to be seen by a urologist a few times--his balls took forever to drop, and then the skin stuck and sort of fused around the head of his penis(he was circumsized but ya still gotta unroll it to clean around the head and DFs mom never remembers to do that!--did that make sense? lol) so it had to basically be ripped back...soo not cool!!

Desert--Ive found the 24 month tends to be smaller than 2t-for most brands.

Bron--Thats awesome shes doing good night training! Thats also cool she can draw! Brendyn still just makes random scribles. lol

TDG- Exactly what you just explained, those are adhesion's! His are from the skin hanging down over the tip of his penis ( well just before the tip ) Plus his foreskin is a bit long and chopped up looking ( I am not impressed with the circumcision )We have pulled it off a few times but it just keeps attaching it's self back! He screams if we start trying to pull on it now....

DG- Sounds like P is exactly the same as what we are dealing with in clothes! Except ours is 12-18mos and some 18mos- 2T Makes me nuts! What brand pants do you guys get for P? I hear Children's place carry the pants with the little elastic bands ( Good thinking I forgot all about those types of pants!! )

Yeah, he reacts pretty bad to dairy, this was why we where so freaked out when he was getting so sick for a while there! Constant throwing up and puking with out gaining weight when he was at one time a very chunky baby!!

Myste- Good Luck!!!

ooo ic. Yeah thats awful isnt it!! The Dr never said anything about surgery for brendyn--I dont think he really has excess skin, it looks like a normal clean cut circ...he just tends to be sticky for some reason! We really have to keep an eye on it and occasionally pull it loose(which he loves wink ), but it was only really bad once--after spending the weekend at grandmas. I had the Dr pull it loose then cuz I was terrified Id rip something! lol Whats really worked well for us is if its getting sticky--after you pull it all the way back(and clean it) rub some neosporin(sp) around the ring of the head. It lubes it so it doesnt stick..and if its red/sore it clears up quick. Seriously thats done wonders! (and the Dr said thats safe..just done get any on the tip/pee hole cuz that could hurt)

oh--and if youre having another boy--Id get someone else to do the circ!!

Haha- Yeah that is already a plan!! We do put some triple antibiotic or Vaseline around the rim of his penis at diaper changes but it always seems to just heal back to it... There is no keeping the skin from going back over the head which makes the skin touch around the rim and it is just an on going issue.. The chopped up looking extra skin is a big deal because I would hate for him to grow up and be embarassed of him self EVER if I can prevent it! Plus one of the big points is to keep him cleaner and this is not keeping him clean.

Hey Ladies!

TDG, glad to hear about Brendyn's potty training. I found going without undies for weeks helped reduce accidents, just a thought. I still hardly put underwear on Audrey, but she hardly does any accidents these days (aside from regressing with her current sickness)\

As for me, I'm back to work and the first week back Audrey comes down with some sort of virus, HIGH fever for a day and a half and now she is breaking out in blotchy patches/rashy thing Thank goodness I am home partly in the morning to call and get her in to see her doc. It seems as though she has had this before. I'm guessing a type of measles or something.

Been a long week. frown
