I hate diaper swappers, that and for some reason my account won't let me post either. I don't get around much these days though. I've just got a ton going on to keep up like I used to.

Sorry for keeping you all in suspense, lol! No service in the part of the hospital we were in and then we had errands to run afterwards so this is the first I've had a chance to get on here!

Anyway, looks like we're going pink again! smile

Then I can make you a girly OS diaper. Meanwhile, share the pink dust when I start trying again in a couple months. LOL

Congrats labby! Wow, that little girl has some big shoes to fill coming after Olivia huh? How fun though! My BIL has two girls and they are the best of friends, playing well together and are such cuties. smile

SO put RJ in his fitted diaper for bed last night and forgot to put a cover over it!!! He woke up screaming completely soaked and all his blankets soaked. At least the bassinet stayed dry because I have a waterproof pad thingy I lay him on. What a mess!!!

She does have big shoes to fill...and the sonographer mentioned that she has big feet, just like Olivia, lol!

I think deep down we both were a little disappointed, me moreso for DH because I know he really wanted a boy. Whenever he talked about this one to Olivia he would always say her little brother. So while he won't admit to being disappointed, I think he is, but all is healthy and that is what is most important. I told him that it is easier to take our girls and have them do stuff like fishing and hunting than it is to take a little boy and take him to get his nails done or something with me, lol! Plus, another girl will be a lot cheaper and we will get more use out of all of the clothes Olivia only wore a handful of times before outgrowing, so that just makes my staying home argument stronger, lol!

I really had myself convinced it was a boy because of how different it has been this time. I wasn't nearly as sick, and my skin has been great whereas with Olivia I had breakouts EVERYWHERE! They weren't able to get a "perfect" shot, but were still pretty positive it's a girl. I kind of think DH may be holding out some hope yet though!

In potty news, Olivia pooped in the potty this morning! Yay! I wasn't home as I had gone out to the grocery store, but DH took a picture! He said she kept grabbing her butt and yelling, but he didn't know what the problem was. Then it finally dawned on him that she was saying "poo!" so then he tried to sit her on the potty which she fought. He said he kept telling her that it's ok and that is where the poop goes and then finally she went, but staggered back when she stood up and saw what was in it, lol! Last night we were outside and she had no bottoms on and just like that she ran to the back door and started yelling "PEE!" so we quick came in and she went right to the potty and peed. She had a few dribbles on the way, but got most of it in the potty, so I think we're finally progressing! Yay!

BG, it's still better than a friend of mine that has forgotten to put a diaper on all together before putting his baby to sleep. Multiple times!

Labby, I think it's ok to be a little disappointed. It's not like either of you will be once she's here and you get to know her. smile
If you, after some time, still feel your family isn't complete without that little boy, you could just try again.
Oh, and I was a total tomboy when I was a kid and loved all the boy stuff. I even did shooting competitions (I'm kinda anti gun now ironically). Gender doesn't really have to mean much at all when it comes to what kind of activities they enjoy.
But yeah, don't feel bad if you think it sucks a little. She'll (or he'll wink ) will turn out to be perfect no matter what. smile

And yay for the peein' and the poopin' and the pottyin'!

Oh, I'm embarressed to say I'm venturing into the world of fitteds. I've ordered some sustainablebabyish under the pretence of a birthday gift (SO completely lol'ed). I'm going to try them at night with a fleece cover. I ordered one off etsy that is made for nights so hopefully that will work.
I hope they get here on monday!

Hey Labby... Saw your pink news on FB! I think it's normal to have some passing disappointment not to have a boy. I think lots of parents want the experience of parenting both. I would like that experience. But I also have a bunch of friends who have two girls (a surprising number actually, statistically speaking) and it is really sweet to watch sisters on action. I know you know that, but it helps to be reminded. And some of the families I know with two girls are really outdoorsy, etc. The results are these adorable kids with mud on their pink painted toenails and leaves in their long curly hair, Lol! Best of both worlds! smile

I really have no diapering news to share. And sadly no potty training news either, Lol! Just popping in to say Hi!

I know the disappointment is there and it will pass and we (he) will still get to do the same fun stuff with our girls. Today though he made the comment that he guesses there will be no more boy scouts in his future which kind of made me sad because he was an Eagle scout and always talked about going camping with the scouts and stuff when he has a little boy. But that doesn't mean he can't have the same adventures with our girls, just maybe not in a scout group type setting. He also keeps telling Olivia that he hopes she likes to fish when she's older because he needs a fishing buddy. I'm really hesitant about any more kids. I think he is may be open to the idea, but I just can't imagine trying to put 3 kids through the teen years, not to mention college! Plus, some friends of ours have tried and tried for a little girl and have 3 boys, and I think if we were to end up with yet another girl then there would really be some disappointment. I know growing up I always wished I had a sister to be close to, so I hope they grow up to be best of friends, although I know there will be lots of fighting and competition along the way!

I still can't get Olivia to realize that underwear is not a diaper. She does great if she has nothing on, but the second you put underwear on she thinks it's a diaper, so we're still a long way away from trying to go diaperless outside the house (and backyard!)!

You can always try the supplements for gender swaying if you do decide to try for a third. It allegedly ups the odds to somewhere in the 70s for getting what you try for. I still haven't decided if I'll go that route when we start trying in another couple months, but I've ruled out the actual diet part of it as being too restrictive and likely quite unhealthy overall. I figure taking some extra calcium and magnesium for a girl can't be that bad, but taking extra calcium during pregnancy to counteract the calcium depleting effects of anticoagulants cost me kidney stones. I'm pretty sure my trying for a girl is limited to BD'ing and praying I get pink!!! LOL! I can be fine with more blue, but will definitely be sad it's not pink and will try for pink again. If, God forbid, I have three blue I don't think I'll be able to talk SO into a fourth child to try again for pink.

Kawaii - Welcome to the dark side! Eddie is doing great with fitteds + extra inserts at night.

Today I went to a garage sale where a guy had a ton of Fuzzi Bunz! If only it was a year ago... I bought 8 (sans inserts) for $20. They are the old pointy kind, and they are the perfect size kind, but it's fun to get new colors.

I tried RJ in a borrowed hemp diaper and it seemed irritate his skin. He got rashy from it. I guess he's allergic to it or something. I washed it with RM before I tried it so it shouldn't be a detergent issue. He's done great with bamboo, cotton flats, and fine with suedecloth if not in that type for a large part of the day. He hasn't done well with hemp and microfleece. Weird because he hasn't had a problem with fleece clothing.

BG - could it maybe be the texture of the hemp? All the hemp that I have seems to be a bit rougher than the bamboo, even after going through the dryer. All of mine are inserts though so they never go against her skin so I've never noticed an irritation issue, but they just don't feel as soft.

Well, I've been using the homemade detergent for a week or so now, and I have mixed feelings about it. It does seem to get the diapers super clean, as I have had no staining issues like I had with the other detergent. However, the lack of scent is a bit irritating. Maybe it's just me, but I notice a faint poopy smell on the diapers that were poopy when they come out of the dryer which grosses me out. Even though there is no sign of a stain or anything, I still smell it, or at least think I smell it. I guess I need to find some essential oil or something to try to scent the detergent and see if it gets any better.
