Twice Burned--just to add to what SusanT was saying about contraceptive side effects: I was on the same pill for over a year and didn't experience ANY side effects for the first ten months. It's possible to have a slow buildup of hormone that gradually causes a change. I'm not saying that this is the root of all of your troubles, but it is one possible contributing factor.

Something that worked for my SO and I was a trip away to a place we could both completely relax: we went camping. Changing our surroundings got rid of a lot of the stress--our bedroom had become a complete battleground, and the tension mounted the moment both of us were in that bed. Being in a place that didn't hold those memories was what we needed--things did pick up for a while, at least until we both started to move in different directions.
